The Barn Market - 13 Feb 2010

The Barn Market - What a day it was! I had SO much fun with all that happened there. Helen and myself had a ball selling and partaking in this day. Along with selling, I mostly chatted with all of the stallholders and also spent time sharing a crafty technique, paper marbling. The workshops went down so well. SO many people had questions and were keen to learn something new!

Here is a little montage of our space from the day and a few details of our pieces. Click on the image to view it larger.

If you want to see some more photos from the day and more of the stallholders goodies check out this link below! Tim spent several hours shooting away and he took some awesome shots. He has posted them on flickr - check them out - Top job Tim!

I really enjoyed the buskers! Their sounds were great to have in the building. Oh and I love the barn building so much! I love sandstone!!! anyways...

Hope to see you all at the next market I'm at.

Cheers,

Miriam

New Year 2010... What does it hold???

Well 2010 is going to be a rather large year for my family, extended family and myself!

Firstly Jade & I are expecting! YAY!!! April/May is the when 'it' is due... and a boy is he :)

Secondly... Helen & I are getting The Barn Market up and running. It is all happening! 13 Feb is our first date and it is at The Barn in Rosny park (near the almighty Eastlands) 10am-3pm. Check out the blog for that... http://thebarnmarket.blogspot.com/ VERY EXCITING...

And third... (but probably the most important at the mo) I am suppose to be re-writing my art curriculum for school and collating ALL of my gear so my lovely new friend & art teacher can take over my department from april to the end of the year! Lets see how that goes :) as I am THE BEST procrastinator EVER!

OH AND... what new arty/crafty creations am I going to come up with this year??? I love my frames, so I will be making a few more of those but also freshening up the designs. I have a few articles of clothing I am wanting to make for my little man, myself :) and for my customers at the market...

So I guess we'll see how the new year unfolds...

Just in retrospect... 2009... It was a great year all round!
I gathered together enough products and guts to get involved in the markets around Hobart {thank you girls (Rebecca, Shannon, Holly (the market) & Julie (the beach market)) for getting us involved}. It was a fab year learning new things, meeting new friends and learning how to best display our products has been rather rewarding!
Thailand was an amazing place to visit! WAY too many memories flood back and it is so hard to choose which ones to share! So here's a little photomontage from that trip...

Life in '09 has been a little bit of a roller coaster... Happy days, heartache, love and plenty of friend and family time :) I love my family & adopted family heaps and have loved the support that they have shown us over the past year. We surly couldn't have done it without them!

Anyways, enough of the sentimental stuff and off to the sewing room I go :)

Much love and thankfulness for your support over the last year!

Cheers,

Miriam

Frames - Frames - Frames

Hi All,

Just a heads up on my next little adventure... Frames! That's right! I've been out and about and found 25 funky frames to frame my prints in.

So if you missed out on purchasing a framed print at the last market, if you're quick, you should be able to grab one at the Beach Market on the 29th August.

I'll post a few shots as soon as i have finished putting them together :)

Also I have been getting some little tags done for my brooches - I'll post a few photos of those soon too. I think the tags make them look a little more classy than what they already are.

More and more people are commenting on the ones I have been wearing, which has been great! And the cool skirt I picked up at the last market by spotted frog. Can't wait for the next market so I can grab a few more original pieces!

Anyways, enough jibber jabber!

Catch you soon.

Cheers!

The Market

Hey All!

We had a fabo time at our last market! 'The Market' is such a great spot to see new and exciting local products! I love all of the things presented there!

This one, I had a few new items on our table. Fabric flowers and framed prints. My flowers were liked by a few but my frames! WOW! I had no idea people would love them more than I do! They all disappeared before lunch! 4 in one hit! I was SO shocked!!! I will definitely be making more of these for our next market, so don't be sad that you didn't get to take one home with you this time. I am aiming to have more at our next market. So keep an eye out for them and be quick... :)

I just love how you guys love my things! It makes the making a little more special for me :)

Anyways, I have a few pics for you from our last market. I will also be photographing some more of my products and I'll have them posted 'very' soon.

Thanks to all who visited and supported our little fetish in creating, making and selling little goodies!

See you at the next market!

Cheers,
Miriam

Just a little side note, if you have bought something of mine and you have it in your house somewhere or you have a photo of you wearing a brooch or flower, I would LOVE to see it. Send me an email with a photo of what you picked up from us. I would love to see :)

These few shots are from 'The Market'. Just some nice shots of our stall and the frames that sold like hot cakes! And I will indeed be making more for you to enjoy!

New fabric flowers I have been making (excuse the dodgy photo - twas taken with my iPhone)
These look awesome on a jacket or to add a little pizzazz to a bag!

AND my semi-new Media pouches ($10).
I have used some funky doilies and a lovely soft microfiber fabric.

Hope to see you soon!
